I highly recommend Dr. Jake Dye with Origin Rehabilitation Performance. In the fall of 2021 I started experiencing really bad knee pain and swelling that affected my day to day activities. My family loves to hike and that even became difficult. I went to a doctor who told me it was just arthritis of the knees but no solutions or help. I went to a sports medicine PT and they helped relieve some of the pain and swelling but still no solution. After joining our CrossFit LT gym in April of 2022 I became frustrated that I was unable to do most exercises and the pain and swelling was becoming a problem again. I was referred to Jake Dye from our gym and it was the best decision I ever made. From the very first appointment I felt a sense of hope and comfort that I could get my knees feeling better and stronger and that I didn’t have to live with knee pain (arthritis) forever. Dr. Jake explained everything in a way I understood and created a plan that would get me back into the gym and hiking without knee pain. As each appointment came and went I little by little started seeing progress and on the days that I felt bad Dr Jake really took the time to help me realize where I started and helped me see my end goals. Every visit I noticed less pain and started to do things I enjoyed without being fearful of hurting my knees again. I had to Be patient and learn to strengthen all the little muscles around my knees. He modified workouts and warm ups every time and added extras each time as I progressed. After about 4 1/2- 5 months of seeing Dr. Jake the day finally came and I started seeing a huge difference. I am still a work in progress but I don’t wake up with knee pain anymore and I can workout without knee pain as well. Dr. Jake Dye is hands down the best physical therapist I have ever been to. His knowledge and patients and determination to get my knees feeling better was such a blessing. He was never in a rush and I felt like he really was excited for all my improvements. Amazing, tailored-to-you service! I came to Jake post op and needed to work on regaining and rebuilding strength. He provided me with a detailed, well laid out plan of action and every month we were able to see noticeable increases in my strength and ability. I loved being able to have a home program I could do on my own on days when I did not have appointments. The program was clear, detailed and even included demo videos and explanations. I would 100% recommend!
I joined the strength and performance program at Origin after doing a different online program for a few months. I have just recently gotten into weightlifting and was looking for more guidance than the app I was using was providing. I really like how the Origin's program is built for me and my goals specifically instead of the generic programs that I was using previously. It is also nice knowing if I ever get hurt, I can just see one of the therapists at Origin and they already know my skill level with lifting. Jake does my programming, and since he is also a physical therapist, he can program around any past injuries I have had easily. If you are looking for a personalized strength training program, I would highly recommend giving it a shot!
At Origin I saw Jake as my therapist. I was a couple months into training for my marathon, averaging about 8-10 miles a day when I started getting severe pain in my right knee. I had been to a PT in the past for this issue, but it didn't seem to help. Working with Jake was such a different experience than what I was expecting. He recognized I needed to be doing some strength training and explained how this would help me improve my running. After changing my mileage and starting a weightlifting program with Jake my knee pain subsided significantly. I was able to run my marathon last month with no knee pain at all. Working with Jake at Origin completely changed my mind about physical therapy and was one of the best healthcare experiences I've had. There were no wait times, and I always had one on one attention for the duration of my appointments. He took the time to explain things fully to me, which made me feel better about my progress, and motivated me to keep working towards my goal of running a marathon. After this positive experience I decided to enroll my kids in the sports performance program that Origin offers, and they love it!
I worked with Jake after tearing my meniscus in February. I have worked out my whole life and I wanted to make sure I got back to lifting in the gym. I was hesitant to start working out again after going through therapy, so I reached out to Origin after seeing the success other people have add. The main difference I noticed working with Jake at Origin was how much time he invested in my care. Every visit I only saw Jake and Jake only. I also never saw any other therapist, which was nice because Jake explained to on day 1 the plan for getting me back into the gym without fear of injuring myself again. Jake taught me how to move better and how to properly progress myself in the gym. The best thing about Origin is being able to do rehab while also feeling like you are still training. Jake realized how important working out is to me and he found a way for me to work around my knee until it able to heal with rehab.
Earlier this year I was deadlifting and felt a pull in my back. I had to stop my gym session because my back instantly started locking up on me. For the next week any bending or lifting from the ground would send a sharp pain into my low back. I went and saw Jake and after 1 session and a week of doing my exercises I was able to at least bend again without pain. Jake then worked with me to help correct my movement and progress me back to the gym lifting over the past few months. He even walked me through making changes to my gym exercises to work around my back pain. Working with Jake at Origin was a great experience and I do not think I would have been able to navigate my way back into the gym without him.
I had been dealing with shoulder pain when working out for years until I started working with Jake. My left shoulder would always lag when doing pressing motions in the gym. Working with Jake at Origin completely solved this problem. Jake at Origin was very thorough in his assessment of my shoulder, and by the end of the session I had a way better understanding of why my left shoulder was weaker than my right, and why everything I had been doing the past was not working. He explained to me the process working towards improving my movement and programmed a complete therapy program that I could add into my gym routine (this made it so convenient). I no longer deal with shoulder pain after pressing days. I would recommend Origin to anyone who wants to get back to performing at a high level or being active again!
I would recommend Origin Rehab to anyone who is dealing with an issue and is looking for a real solution to their pain. I had been going to a PT at a different office 3x a week. They mainly did dry needling, and electrical stimulation but didn't seem to address the root of the problem. After 2 months of going I was still having pain in my right hip and low back when running. I was at the point where I couldn't run one mile without having to take a break and walk. I was recommended to see Jake by a friend, and my experience was nothing like the other therapist. Jake created a program for me and thoroughly explained why I was not getting better. He then taught me all the steps I needed to take to progress back to running pain free. Having a plan in place and knowing the milestones and goals I needed to reach before increasing my running milage made all the difference in getting better.
Jake provided a thorough evaluation and was able to pinpoint my issue. He took the time to explain what I was experiencing and then to offer exercises to improve my injury. Since meeting with Jake and using the exercises he provided my injury has progressively improved. I’ve been able to return to many of my normal activities again!
I began working with Jake at Origin after 2 attempts and months of time spent working with other physical therapists doing basic exercises. I was dealing with back pain that was keeping me from squatting or deadlifting. For over a year every time I tried to squat or deadlift, I would worry about feeling a tweak in my back that would put me down for a week or 2 and radiate pain down my leg. Working with the other therapist helped decrease my pain but it did not help me take care of the constant back tweaks when lifting. Jake’s approach at Origin was a way different experience. Jake helped me with my workout programming and found other issues outside just my back leading to the tweaks. He spent one-on-one time with me and made sure I understood how we were going to address my back pain and work back into deadlifting and squatting again. After completing my rehab with Jake I am now able to workout with the worry of pulling my back out.
